Ledger acknowledges customer database hack and notifies it's users.
Earlier today, a post on RaidForums Community was seen claiming to have accessed the Ledger Wallet customer database and has uploaded all details from the hack for the public to access for free.
Ledger has informed users that the hack really did happen.
The official tweet states that the data the hacker possibly accessed could indeed be from their e-commerce data from June, 2020. They claimed to have been aware of the data breach and have since alerted the authorities, their users and have also been fighting downstream attacks.
They also explained that they take the security of their users assets and data as a top priority. They have even hired a New Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) since July so as to get more work done on the security part of the company.
More tests and analysis such as the Penetration tests and Forensic analysis have been carried out to identify any vulnerability within the e-commerce system and deal with it.
The French Data Protection Authority has also been informed of the data breach and are currently working together with other data breach protection authorities across the globe.
A webpage has been set up to inform users on how to identify and avoid the ongoing phishing campaigns.
