Reddit Announces Acquisition of Video Platform Dubsmash to the Team

Reddit plans on leveraging Dubsmash in two areas. One, Reddit believes Dubsmash shares the same mission as them which is bringing together communities and helping everyone find a belonging within the platform.
Reddit, a home of millions of users who enjoy building communities and engagement. The platform discussion ranges from breaking news, sports, TV fan theories, or a never-ending stream of the internet's cutest animals and even cryptocurrency. The company has announced its plan on acquiring Dubsmash.
Dubsmash is an online short-form video platform like TikTok, it was founded in 2015 and continued growing steadily even having over 1 billion video views since January.
Reddit plans on leveraging Dubsmash in two areas. One, Reddit believes Dubsmash shares the same mission as them which is bringing together communities and helping everyone find a belonging within the platform.
“Just as Reddit is a place for content you won’t see anywhere else on the Internet, Dubsmash provides a welcoming platform for creators and users who are under-represented in social media.”
Next, they will incorporate Dubsmash's imaginative video creation devices into Reddit, which will enable Reddit's own makers to communicate in unique and true manners that are endemic to the networks.

Dubsmash co founders which includes Suchit Dash, Jonas Drüppel, and Tim Specht and the whole team will be joining Reddit.
