Women march to raise awareness on wearing hijab at the International Hijab Day celebrations held in Karachi under the leadership of the Jamaat e Islami (JI) women's group on Saturday.

 

Many women from all walks of life attended the march in Karachi, according to a JI spokesman.

 

The women marched wearing hijabs in the pouring rain.

 

JI senior women leader Sindh Rakshinda Munib and Karachi branch leader Asma Safir led the march.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Asma Safir said the world needs to understand that Hijab is a symbol of self-respect.

 

She advised women around the world to embrace hijab and respect women.
